Quality Assurance and Control Manager

The Quality Assurance and Control Manager is responsible for all activities involving quality assurance, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, these include management systems such as ISO 9000, philosophies, such as Total Quality Management, and methodologies such as Continuous Improvement. The focus of the position is to develop, perform and manage all quality assurance related activities.

Under the general supervision from and on behalf of the Systems and Services Manager, the Quality Assurance and Control Manager will have the overall responsibility within the Technical and Operations departments for leading the quality function and all related activities. This involves defining quality strategies and targets, verification of the availability of all the necessary documentation of internal and external processes relevant to the provision of services and their performance monitoring, RMA processes, quality improvement efforts within the various Operations functions and processes, as well as working closely with other Technical departments, like Engineering, in ensuring that the quality processes and routines are harmonized between the Operations department and other departments.

Work activities, duties and responsibilities

  • Leading the quality function within Operations;
  • defining quality strategies and targets;
  • advising and supporting all main Operations processes in their quality improvement efforts;
  • establishing strong quality co-operation with other parts of the organization;
  • monitoring and advising on how the quality management system is performing and publishing data and reports regarding company performance against set indicators;
  • liaising with managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly;
  • where appropriate, advising on changes and their implementation, taking care that change control procedures are defined and documented;
  • promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation;
  • setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved;
  • assessing suppliers' and own company's product specifications and customer requirements;
  • working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers;
  • ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation;
  • considering the application of environmental and health/safety standards;
  • agreeing standards and establishing clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply;
  • defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff;
  • setting up and maintaining controls and documentation;
  • identifying relevant quality-related training needs;
  • collating and analysing performance data and charts against defined parameters;
  • ensuring tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary;
  • supervising technical staff in carrying out tests and checks;
  • writing technical and management system reports;
  • bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive procedures;
  • liaising with customers and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications;
  • establishing standards of service for customers or clients;
  • preparing clear explanatory documents;
  • monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

Reporting to: Systems and Services Manager.

Job Location: Turin, Italy

Availability: 5 days/week

Labor time: 39 hours/week
