Skylogic, Eutelsat's broadband affiliate, has teamed with ViaSat, producer of innovative satellite and wireless communications products, to provide in-flight communications to business jets flying over Europe. The new service has already been selected by ARINC, a world leader in aviation communications, which announces that passengers on over 40 business jets flying over European airspace are now benefiting from satellite-based in-flight communications. ARINC provides users with European coverage through Ku-band capacity on Eutelsat's ATLANTIC BIRD™ 2.

High-speed broadband access to internet via satellite is now also possible for users in hotels, tourist resorts and villages and also marinas and ports: in particular, Club Mediterranée has used D-STAR technology, provided by Skylogic (the Italian branch of EUTELSAT, leading satellite operator worldwide) and integrated with time code management technology from Greek partner Video&Suono, to set up a new Satellite-Wifi-Internet service for guests in many of its villages.

Elettromeccanica Adriatica S.p.A., one of the leading electricity suppliers in Italy, announces it has integrated new satellite and terrestrial technologies supplied by IcarusNet and Skylogic for remote monitoring and control of operations of its hydroelectric stations.
By restructuring its network infrastructure, Elettromeccanica Adriatica has created an integrated terrestrial, satellite and mobile radio (GPRS and GSM) communications system for ten remote sites, which include hydroelectric stations and intake structures that carry water to the stations. At no extra cost it has also installed new video surveillance systems for remote installations.

Skylogic, the broadband affiliate of Eutelsat, has joined forces with Colt Telecom to provide a sales monitoring programme for Basic.net, a leading retail outlet group in Italy

Every item of clothing in the shops franchised by Basic.net is identified by a barcode that can be read by an infrared scanner to show location and for price control: Skylogic and Colt Telecom, using satellite and fibre technologies, have integrated sales control management to enable data transmission from Basic.net's 35 shops throughout Italy to its sales management offices in Turin. This allows real-time monitoring of purchasing trends in all sales outlets as well as monitoring of warehouse movements.

The XX Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006, of which Eutelsat Communications was an Official Sponsor, enabled the company and its subsidiary Skylogic Italia to demonstrate their full capability to deploy and operate a comprehensive TV network delivering channels by satellite to the Olympic community. A package of 50 encrypted channels, aggregated and broadcast by Eutelsat to city and mountain sites in Turin and the region of Piedmont, made it possible for athletes, trainers, journalists, Olympic federations, judges and volunteers to benefit from real-time coverage of competition events on more than 12,000 screens.
